Enhance your garden with beautiful foliage, such as this Purple Diamond Loropetalum. This plant is best suited for USDA zone 7 to 10, which means it has a hardiness that can withstand areas with cooler climates. From the Southern Living Plant collection, it holds a rich dark purple color all year while bearing ribbon-like pink flowers appear in Spring. The purple diamond plant, unlike other loropetalum, has a controlled growth habit that will not outgrow your house like some, making it suitable for any landscape. When planting this variety, dig the hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil in with your native soil. Leave the top of the root ball half an inch above the ground level when filling the hole with soil. It needs to be watered twice a week until it is established. To support growth, use a slow release granular fertilizer in the Spring. This live plant is evergreen.
